Cleaning, Care & Maintenance

Our products are crafted to be weatherproof and can remain outdoors year-round. While natural materials such as wood may change colour over time, this is a natural process that adds to their charm. To extend the lifespan of your furniture, storing it indoors when not in use is recommended.

Below are some useful tips to help keep your Designer Lifestyle products in perfect condition.

Pergolas

Our pergolas require very little maintenance. You can easily clean the frames and gutters with mild cleaning materials or a pressure washer.

Table Tops

To avoid staining, refrain from leaving objects such as ashtrays, pots, or vases on the table for long periods. Also, avoid placing hot items directly on the surface. Always use coasters and mats to protect the table from heat and damage.

Teak & Wood Furniture

For teak products, we advise unboxing the furniture and letting it acclimatise for 24 hours. Afterward, use our Wood Cleaner, let it dry, and then apply Wood Protector for optimal results.

Teak and Grandis Eucalyptus wood will naturally weather to a soft grey colour over time. You can use Wood Protector to preserve its fresh-cut appearance for longer. Cleaning is simple with water and Designer Lifestyle Wood Cleaner.

Cushions

To maintain your cushions, please refer to the specific washing instructions. While our cushions are water-resistant, they should be kept dry when not in use to prevent the inner cushions from becoming saturated. After heavy rain, remove any excess water. Rotating cushions, fluffing them, and keeping them clean will help retain their quality and shape.

Cleaning Products

For best results, we recommend using Designer Lifestyle Cleaners and Protectors, specifically designed to care for our products safely. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive materials, as these may damage your furniture. We also do not recommend using protective covers, as they can cause staining from mould or weathering.

Be cautious with fire, hot materials, oils, and liquids around your furniture. Any spills, including food, bird droppings, or wet leaves, should be cleaned immediately to avoid damage.
